1. Bluefire - Black & Asian Development Programme

In 2002, KinoFilm successfully bid and won funding for 'Bluefire' from the Cultural Diversity Greater Manchester Franchise Programme (CDGM). The project has been operating successfully for three years, now in it's forth year Bluefire has just launched a touring programme around the Greater Manchester districts and is planning to expand this to the North West next year. Bluefire will also have an expanded exciting programme as part of the 10th anniversary festival. Please see the Bluefire 2006 page for latest information on Bluefire activities.

Bluefire's annual programme is funded under the ACE NW (Arts Council England, North West) / AGMA (Association of Greater Manchester Authorities):CDGM (Cultural Diversity in Greater Manchester) schemes. Bluefire festival is also funded by North West Vision.

2. Commissioning of 6 Digital Experimental Shorts

During our activity programmes for 2002 - 3, Kino will develop a production project aimed at creating a series of new video art commissions.

This will take the form of six pieces of new experimental video work with a new completed soundtrack. The commissions will be created from raw footage originating from Kino's 16 mm film archive (dating from mid 60s - mid 80s), now in the public domain.
