Shorts for Cinema Tour

Kino promotes a selection of short films through its various touring programms.

A number of programs from and following the festival are chosen for touring to independent cinemas in the region and beyond. Sometimes, these programms can be made available for international festivals at other times of the year too. For example, over the last three years, Kino has toured programms to Europe, Australia, Malaysia and most recently are planning a screening at the Sao Paulo Film Festival in Brazil.

In addition, we are looking to further develop our scheme for promoting quality 35mm shorts as supporting films to features and in our quarterly touring programmes.

Over the last two years, Kino has exhibited almost 200 shorts in this way, supporting for example, a contemporary world cinema program at Knutsford's Studio Cinema in Cheshire, and touring other programms to Merseyside and Lancashire cinemas attracting over 2,500 attendees, for short film programms outside the core programme of the festival.

Films submitted to the festival (on 35 mm format only) are automatically considered for this scheme and may be requested outside the period of the festival.

For further details on this scheme, or to submit a film for consideration please contact the festival Director John Wojowski at: john.kino@good.co.uk
