Barry J.C. Purves is an English animator, director and screenwriter of puppet animation television and cinema and theatre designer and director, primarily for the Altrincham Garrick Playhouse in Manchester.
Some of his work includes animation for The Wind in the Willows, Gilbert & Sullivan: The Very Models, Postman Pat, Fifi and the Flowertots and Tchaikovsky – An Elegy.
Purves’ talk will be followed by a screening of our first round of shorts for the animation series. This showcase at Albert Square Chop House will take place from 4pm and highlight the comic, the touching, the silly and the sad in animation. Tickets £5/£4 (concession).
