Hello,
This is Saman Haghighivand, the director of the short film “Nicki” which I just figured out that it’s won the award of the best LGBTQ film in Kinofilmfestival. What a good news, but I should say that I just got to understand by searching my film name on google. Nobody notified me.
I was wondering if there is any cash prize or any other thing az a prize for it.
all the best
Hi Saman
I am so sorry about the delay in responding to your message, we don’t very often use the festival website for communications as we get so much WW spam – it most goes into juck. However i was looking through the site and found a few genuine emails and came across yours.
I am pretty sure that you would have been notified as we do contact all the winners and often the runners up too. I don’t really know why you didn’t hear from us as this is nearly 2 years ago now. I guess there are some explanations.such as, we sent the email and you didn’t receive it as it went in your spam folder (possibility maybe). The person doing the communications had the wrong email address or got your address typed badly and so the mail bounced back and we had no other way to contact you. Maybe you changed your email address and therefor were not available. Maybe your film was submitted by an agent who was dealing with your film and was contacted by us but failed to pass on the news to you (often the case when working with agents who submit the film on your behalf). There are many ways this could happen and all I can do is apologise.
I can confirm there were no cash awards in 2022. I seem to remember that this was the 2020 festival that was postponed due to covid lockdowns (3 times) and eventually presented late 202i. Don’t worry you didn’t miss physical awards or cash, we would have presented certificates or even trophies, and these would have been posted out to you or the agent if that was the case. I’m really sorry that you didn’t receive it. If I can find anything in the archive I will let you know.
Kind regards
Kino
Thank you so much for you email. Actually, an Italian distribution company submitted my film to your festival. They were not good in communication though.
This is my personal email: Saman.haghighivand@gmail.com .
It would be such a pleasure to receive a trophy from your festival for this award. Now, I live in Iran, Tehran. Please let me know if it is possible to send one to me. I am also so interested to collaborate in any sense with your festival.
All the best,
Saman Haghighivand
