PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE THIRD UK LOCKDOWN INTRODUCED ON 6TH JANUARY TO PROTECT LIVES AGAINST THE WORSENING COVID-19 SITUATION HERE IN THE UK, WE AGAIN HAVE TO POSTPONE THE FESTIVAL DATES THAT WERE SET FOR THIS FEBRUARY. THIS NEW CURRENT LOCKDOWN LOOKS SET TO BE IN PLACE UNTIL AT LEAST UNITL THE END OF MARCH.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THEREFOR FOR US TO PLAN FOR A LIVE FESTIVAL AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME AND THOUGH WE HAVE BEEN HOLDING OUT TO PRESENT A LIVE FESTIVAL THIS SPRING, IT NOW LOOKS UNLIKELY THIS CAN HAPPEN. WE ARE NOW INVESTIGATING THE POSSIBILITY OF MOVING THE FESTIVAL ONLINE AS MANY OTHER FESTIVALS HAVE DONE TO TAKE PLACE THIS SPRING.
FURTHER UPDATES WILL BE POSTED ON FILMFREEWAY, ON OUR WEB SITE WWW.KINOFILM.ORG.UK AND ACROSS OUR SOCIAL MEDIA IN DUE COURSE. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE BUT THE CURRENT SITUATION IS OUT OF OUR CONTROL. Dates to be announced in due course.
Regarding plans for the 17th Edition. Due to postponement and date changes to the 16th edition this will obviously have a knock on effect with the 17th edition October 2021 dates. Please note that due to the ongoing Covid situation here in the UK it is likely that we may have to move the October dates to February/March 2022. Its unfortunate but we need to allow ourselves an adequate period of time between festivals as there is much work to be done. More details of the 2021 17th edition Festival dates will be announced in due course.
