Kino Shorts 49 Programme Announced

KINO SHORTS TONIGHT ! Wed 25th June 2014 @ the Three Minute TheatreKino Shorts is back with a fantastic programme tonight at 3MT, which is going to command your attention. We’ve got such a great selection of films from some of our regulars and a new batch of student final year films. Please come early to be sure of getting a seat. There will be as usual Q&A’s with the filmmakers after each film with networking sessions during the intermission and after the final film. There is off course a licensed bar open throughout the night for a wide range of drinks and snacks.The programme for tonight from three regulars at Kino includes Chris Cronin’s mega short and take on of the adventure genre “Sophie’s Fortune”; Mark Cartwright’s “Behind Closed Doors” focusing on a woman’s struggle with domestic violense and starring Nyesha Jane Farag; Marc Callum will premier his latest film “Scotoma” starring Nichola McHugh and Tracy Sheals.

From Manchester Metropolitan University’s School of Art we have three new student films from three graduate filmmakers who will obviously go far. Artur Rabinski’s excellent documentary “Leela” about a cabaret singer chasing her dream; Joe Hallas’s “Wild Stripe: The Ballad of Lexi Larkin” which takes us into the wold of Lexi, a transgressive young woman who ends up working at “Sweet Dreamz”, a dodgy Gentlemen’s Club; and finally Saf Akhtar’s “Run” a modern reimagining of the classic Bonnie & Clyde tale.
