Kino Exposed Student Shorts Festival

Please note this is an archive page. The student festival below took place in 2013 and has not taken place as a dedicated festival since. Kino Exposed is now (for the time being) combined as specific strand of the main KINOFILM FESTIVAL. All students can submit to KINOFILM (via Filmfreeway) at the reduced fee of £10 ($16) and will be considered for Kino Exposed Strand of the festival. Please see the main submissions page.

Kino Exposed is a Student and Young People Short Film Festival. The 1st Kino Exposed Student Film Festival was held at Three Minute Theatre, Manchester on 10-12th June 2013. Submissions for the festival were open to all students and young people from 16yr – 26yr old.

Entries were allowed in all normal categories, animation, experimental, fiction, and documentary for all shorts of 20 mins and under.

There were awards in several categories including:

Best UK Student Short,
Best Documentary Short
Best Animated Short
Audience Award
Best New Talent

The next student short film festival will take place in June 2014. Submissions are open during most of the academic year – and you can submit films as early as October 2013. The early bird entry fee is only £5.00, forms for the now annual festival are available here:

ALL SELECTED BEST SHORTS ARE AUTOMATICALLY CONSIDERED FOR THE KINOFILM INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL STUDENT CATEGORY (the following year) WHEN THIS TAKES PLACE (next in FEB 2014) – TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE FOR A SPECIAL STUDENT SHORT FILM PROGRAMME.
